Syrian State TV: Israel behind overnight air strikes near Damascus

November 30, 2016 11:07

According to Syrian state television, Israel was behind the overnight air raids just west of Damascus.

The Syrian report stated that two missiles were fired from Lebanese airspace and that no one was injured in the strikes. A Syrian military source said Israeli planes launched the air strike at dawn, and the missiles fell on the Saboura area.

The attack was an attempt to "divert attention away from the successes of the Syrian Arab Army", SANA said, quoting a military source.

Reuters contributed to this report.
