A taxi driver has been arrested on suspicion of raping a Filipino woman, police said Tuesday.

The woman filed a complaint to the police a couple of weeks ago. She allegedly hailed a taxi one morning and somewhere along the way the taxi driver reportedly stopped the car and raped her.

The suspect is a 32-year-old resident of Lod who also works as a truck driver, according to police. On Tuesday he was brought to the Ramle Magistrate's Court and his remand was extended by seven days. Police said they didn't know of any other victims as of yet, but they were examining the possibility that there were others.
