A young woman wounded during a mass brawl in the Negev city of Rahat last Saturday died of her wounds at Soroka Hospital in Beersheba on Saturday, bringing the death total to two in the fight between two local families.

Neriman Ibrahim Abu Jama, 19, was critically wounded during the fighting and was in hospital until Saturday.

During the fight, 16-year-old local, Salah-a-din Abu Abed was shot dead, and the next day police from special patrol units began a wave of arrests in the city, including at least 4 minors.

Over the course of the past week, 12 people were indicted for their alleged roles in the deadly brawl.

The fight broke out in the city’s “34” neighborhood, and responding officers reporting coming under a volley of rock throwers at the scene, as did firefighters who came to extinguish two house fires and were forced to retreat until they could get a police escort.
