As a result of the beginning of work on the Carlebach underground light rail station in Tel Aviv, the Transportation Ministry announced changes in nighttime traffic patterns from Tuesday through Thursday.
On Tuesday night, from 12:30 a.m. to 5 a.m., traffic will be closed on the southern section of Menachem Begin Boulevard, between Kaplan and Hashmonaim streets. Several bus lines – 463, 466, 599 and 480 will therefore be diverted to Yigal Alon Street, a change that will continue on both Wednesday and Thursday nights, the ministry said.
Meanwhile, the last scheduled trip of the lines 42, 240, 60, 68 and 63 on this section of Menachem Begin will be cancelled, as will the last two trips of line 1. The bus station in the southern direction of Menachem Begin south of the Kalka bridge will be moved about 50 meters further south, to HaArba street, the ministry said.
A number of additional changes will also occur on Thursday night specifically, between 8 p.m. and 12:30 a.m., according to the ministry. Menachem Begin Boulevard northbound and Hamasger Street southbound, between Harakevet junction and Hashmonaim junction will be closed entirely during this time. Hamasger will become one-way, with traffic flowing south. Meanwhile, closures will impact Yitzhak Sadeh Street from Yigal Alon to the west, Lincoln Street and Carlebach Street, between Begin Junction and Hashmonaim Junction, the ministry said.
A variety of bus line changes will apply during these Thursday night hours as well.
