Israel's top female tennis player Shahar Pe'er was knocked out of the Wimbledon singles tournament on Wednesday, losing 6-3, 6-2 to 10th seed Nadia Petrova of Russia in the second round. The result will be a disappointment for Pe'er, who is currently ranked 55th in the world, after her superb showing at the All England Club in 2008 where she reached the fourth round. However the 22-year-old has only just recovered from a stress fracture in her right foot which she suffered in the middle of May.
