Despite unseasonably cool temperatures and rain showers in various parts of the country, thousands of revelers took to the nation's parks and picnic areas to celebrate Independence Day. More than 30,000 Israelis flocked to national parks and nature reserves on Thursday, the 67th anniversary of the creation of the state, the Israel Nature and Parks Authority said.
