The National Security Council’s counter terrorism bureau on Monday reminded Israelis not to travel to the Sinai Peninsula and said that Israelis that were currently there should return to Israel immediately.

The bureau's statement comes amid an escalation in violence in the Peninsula following Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi's ouster from power last week. Five Egyptian policemen and one Coptic priest were killed in Sinai last week.
