Thousands riot in Galilee after Israeli Arab is shot dead by police

Thousands of rioters in the Israeli Arab town of Kafr Kana clashed with security forces on Saturday hours after video emerged of police shooting a youth wielding a knife late Friday.

The young man, 22-year-old Khir Hamdan, died of his wounds.Police chief Yohanan Danino convened his top lieutenants for an assessment of the situation, Army Radio reported.

Authorities also plan to investigate the shooting, which was captured on tape by security cameras.
