Three Israeli youths were arrested Monday evening after clashing with security forces near the Damascus Gate when they were refused entry into the Old City, according to a statement released by Jerusalem Police.
According to the statement, police believed that the youths had arrived to harass local Arabs and "to curse at them."
Once they were denied entry through the Damascus Gate, the youths began attacking the police officers. They were subsequently arrested without further incident.
