Three-team race to avoid BSL ouster heats up

Hapoel Holon took a significant step towards securing its BSL survival on Monday, beating Ironi Ness Ziona 89-72 to open a two-game lead over Ness Ziona and Maccabi Kiryat Gat in the battle against relegation.
Each team has two more games to play until the end of the regular season, with the side that finishes the campaign in last place to be demoted to the National League. Ness Ziona is tied at 10-21 with Kiryat Gat, which lost 73-70 to Maccabi Haifa.
Scottie Reynolds finished with 22 points and nine assists for Holon, with Mitchell Watt leading Ness Ziona with 27 points and 16 rebounds.
Also Monday, Maccabi Rishon Lezion (15-16) booked its place in the postseason with a 93-83 win over Maccabi Ashdod (12-19).
Rishon’s win also secured Hapoel Tel Aviv’s place in the top eight and an accompanying playoff berth.
