Republican nominee Donald Trump panned the Iran deal during the televised debate on Monday evening. Hillary Clinton, who has backed the diplomatic agreement, fired back that when she began her tenure as secretary of state, Iran was "weeks away" from a bomb, and that the agreement had worked.

The point was raised during a combative section which touched upon the war in Iraq, ISIS, NATO and the Middle East.
