Turkey's Erdogan, Russia's Putin discuss deepening ties

ANKARA - Russian President Vladimir Putin called Turkish counterpart Recip Tayyip Erdogan to congratulate him on his election victory, and the two leaders discussed deepening and improving bilateral ties in the phone call, a Turkish presidential source said.

Putin and Erdogan reiterated the importance of cooperation on regional issues, especially on Syria, the source added.
