Turkey's Erdogan says his meeting with Putin on Syria will bring hope

SOCHI, Russia - Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday that a joint statement due to be made after his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the crisis in Syria would bring "new hope" to the region.

Erdogan was speaking to reporters ahead of talks with his Russian counterpart in the Black Sea resort city of Sochi. He did not reveal what would be in the joint statement.
