Turkish response to Kurdish referendum will 'only target those who behind it'

ISTANBUL - Turkey's measures in retaliation for the Iraqi Kurdish independence referendum will only target those who decided to hold it, Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said on Friday.

In a speech in the northwestern province of Canakkale, Yildirim said Turkey would not make civilians living in northern Iraq pay the price for the referendum. Ankara has vowed economic, security and political steps in response to the vote, but has so far specified little action.
