Two injured from smoke inhalation after fire breaks out in east Jerusalem apartment

Two people were injured, one seriously, as a result of a fire that broke out in an apartment in the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabal Mukaber, Israel Radio reported on Tuesday.

The injuries were caused by smoke inhalation, and the two victims were rushed to Hadassah University Medical Center in the Ein Kerem section of the capital, according to Israel Radio.

Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control. As of 6:00 a.m, investigators were still trying to piece together what caused the fire to ignite.
