Two men arrested after crossing from Gaza to Israel

Two men who crossed into Israel from the southern Gaza Strip were arrested by Israeli forces, the IDF said on Wednesday.
The two men were unarmed and were transferred to security forces for questioning.
Gaza is considered the most explosive front by Israel and while infiltrations into Israel from the Strip occur on a regular basis, with fuel and potable water running low and high levels of unemployment, senior IDF officials have warned that the potential for escalation with Hamas is extremely high.
Israel has begun constructing a new underground barrier designed to prevent Hamas tunnels from crossing into Israeli territory from Gaza.
Head of the Southern Command Major General Eyal Zamir stated on Wednesday that “this wall can potentially lead to a dangerous escalation” despite the fact that the barrier is being built entirely in Israeli territory.
Construction of the new underground barrier is expected to pick up steam in the coming months.
