UK condemns Israeli government plan for more housing tenders in West Bank

The United Kingdom on Friday condemned the Israeli government’s decision to issue new tenders for 450 housing units in areas that lie beyond the 1967 Green Line.

According to a statement released by the Foreign Office, London urged Israel “to focus on steps that are conducive to peace.”

"The UK condemns the government of Israel’s decision to publish new tenders for 450 settlement units in the West Bank of the occupied Palestinian territories," the Foreign Office said.

"The UK’s position on Israeli settlements is clear: they are illegal under international law. We urge the Government of Israel to reverse this decision."
