In a briefing to the UN Security Council following the abduction and release of 21 peacekeepers by Syrian rebels earlier this month, Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations Hervé Ladsous said Tuesday that the peacekeepers in the Golan Heights known as UNDOF (the UN Disengagement Observer Force) would be "adopting a posture which is more static" and would increase security measures including the use of armored vehicles.
