The United Nations' aid agency for the Palestinians, the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has announced the cancellation of the 3rd annual Gaza Marathon, set to take place on April 10, after authorities in Gaza insisted on a ban on women participating.

The marathon had been organized to raise funds for UNRWA's "Summer Fun Weeks" activities for Gaza Children.
