The US Embassy in Israel issued a travel warning Wednesday urging all US citizens to "carefully consider and possibly defer travel" to the northern Golan Heights, "until the situation stabilizes."

The warning comes after multiple mortar rounds, emanating from Syria, landed in Israeli territory near the border. The statement added that all US government employees are temporarily prohibited from personal travel north of Route 87 and east of Route 918 in the Golan Heights.
