Police were searching on Friday for a gunman north of the Indiana State University campus near two of the school's residence halls, a campus alert said. The gunman is described as a thin, black male with long dreadlocks, wearing black basketball shorts and carrying a red or black backpack, the alert said. The campus is in Terre Haute, Indiana, about an hour's drive southwest of Indianapolis.
