US Ambassador to the UN Susan Rice will visit Israel next week to represent the Obama administration at a conference hosted by President Shimon Peres, a US official said Thursday. Rice will hold talks with Israeli officials as well as with Palestinian officials when she visits the Palestinian territories, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because the trip hasn't been announced officially. Peres invited President Barack Obama to attend his annual "Facing Tomorrow" conference, but the president couldn't go so he asked Rice to represent the administration, the official said.
