US issues Egypt travel advisory for its citizens amid unrest

The US Department of State warned US citizens to defer non-essential travel to Egypt on Friday due to the "continuing possibility of political and social unrest."

The Department of State said in the advisory that it had authorized the departure from Egypt of a number of non-emergency employees and family members. A US citizen died from a stab wound to the chest on Friday in the Egyptian city of Alexandria during clashes between supporters and opponents of President Mohamed Morsi.
