WASHINGTON - The United States and its allies conducted 25 air strikes since early on Sunday targeting Islamic State militants in Syria and Iraq, the Combined Joint Task Force carrying out the operations said.

In Syria, six air strikes near al Hasaka destroyed vehicles and fighting positions, the task force said in a statement on Monday. In Iraq, 19 strikes hit buildings and vehicles near Ramadi, Falluja, Sinjar and other towns, it said.
