The US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Martin Dempsey, arrived in Israel on Monday as an official guest of IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gadi Eisenkot.

Dempsey will hold meetings with Eisenkot, Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon, and other Israeli security chiefs, to discuss bilateral military cooperation, and common security challenges.

He will also be awarded with an IDF badge of appreciation by Eisenkot, the IDF said.

This is Dempsey's fifth visit to Israel since his appointment as US military chief.
