US President Barack Obama has strongly recommended to Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak not to run for another term in elections, The new York Times reported citing American diplomats in Cairo and Washington.
The message was conveyed to Mubarak by Frank G. Wisner, a former US diplomat with deep ties to Egypt. Mr. Wisner's message did not demand Mubarak step aside now, but rather establish free and fair elections in which he would not participate, making way for a new Egyptian leader.
