Former Egyptian foreign minister Amr Moussa was quoted by al Arabiya News Agency as saying that Egyptian Army Chief Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi has decided to run for the presidency and will make a public announcement soon.

The hugely popular military strongman and proponent of ousting formerly elected president Mohamed Morsi  has been widely expected to run for president.

In an interview with a Kuwaiti newspaper last week, Sisi was quoted saying he "“would fulfill the people’s demands to run for president.”
