White House: Obama to give Senate leaders update on Iran talks on Tuesday

WASHINGTON - US President Barack Obama will meet with Senate leaders from both parties on Tuesday ahead of international talks this week on Iran's nuclear program and as senators consider legislation to impose new sanctions on Tehran, the White House said.
"Tomorrow at the White House, the President will meet with leadership and the chairmen and ranking members of the Senate Banking Committee, Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Senate Armed Services, and Senate Select Committee on Intelligence to provide an update on the status of the P5+1 negotiations with Iran before the next round of talks begin later this week in Geneva," Bernadette Meehan, a spokeswoman for the White House National Security Council, said in a statement.
