White House urges Syrian government to stop siege of Qusair

WASHINGTON - The White House on Tuesday urged the Syrian government to stop a military siege of the town of Qusair and allow relief supplies in unimpeded.

"We are deeply concerned about the continued fighting in Qusair," White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters, saying the siege had created a dire situation there.
