Women's Golf: Israel’s Beck finishes 15th, on track for Olympics

Israeli golfer Laetitia Beck registered her best finish of the year at the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic in Alabama on Sunday, ending the event tied for 15th place.
Beck led the tournament after carding a 65 in the first round, but followed it up with a 73, 70 and 72 to finish at 8-under-par 280.
Ariya Jutanugarn of Thailand won the event at 14-under-par.
The 24-year-old Beck, who received a check for $17,659, is well placed to qualify for the Rio Olympics, sitting in 42nd place in the Olympic rankings. The top 59 in the Olympic rankings to be released on July 11 will book a berth in Rio.
Golf will be played at the Olympics for the first time since the 1904 Summer Games, with a total of 60 players qualifying in each of the men’s and women’s events.
