Yachimovich supports Gabbay: He couldn't bear Livni any longer

Labor MK and new opposition leader Shelly Yachimovich expressed her support for Labor leader Avi Gabbay after his public break with MK Tzipi Livni and the dissolution of the joint Labor-Hatenua Zionist Union.
"Sometimes we find ourselves in situations where there is no other option," Yachimovich said in an interview on KAN News Wednesday, "and I completely understand the steps that led Avi Gabbay to make this move."
"It did not work," Yachimovich said of the combined Zionist Union party. "Not only did we not become stronger as a result of this partnership, we have only become weaker."
Livni, Yachimovich said, could not accept the fact that Gabbay was leader of the Zionist Union. "At a certain point, certainly before elections, a party leader cannot bear it any more."
