Yadlin to Turkish press: Mavi Marmara incident was a big mistake

November 6, 2013 23:41

Former intelligence chief Amos Yadlin branded the 2010 Mavi Marmara incident as "a great mistake" in an interview with Turkish news agency Anadolu on Tuesday.

Yadlin, who was the head of IDF intelligence at the time of the incident that brought to the death of nine Turks and put a strain on Jerusalem-Ankara relations, said both Israel and Turkey made mistakes.

He added that he "wished nothing like that had happened," and that the same mistakes would not be repeated today.
