Transportation and Intelligence Minister Israel Katz said Israel is advancing a regional peace initiative through railway networks between Mediterranean and Gulf countries. Katz spoke of the initiative at the Jerusalem Post Diplomatic Conference on Wednesday.
Katz said that his recent visit to Oman strengthened Israel's diplomatic ties with the Gulf countries. "Tracks for regional peace" is a regional railway network among Middle Eastern countries for increasing regional trade in the region.
"The Gulf countries recognize Israel's capacity to head such project," the minister said. "This is a realistic plan."
