August 17 THE 2008 Middle East Students Conference, a five-day simulation of a regional peace conference with students participating from all over the world, will be held at Tel Aviv University. The students will represent the countries involved in the conflict. They will be divided into regional and national delegations and simulate peace talks. Participants will be briefed by top TAU professors in various subjects, including Middle Eastern history, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the art of negotiation, diplomacy and much more. Tuesday, August 26 EDUCATION IN Holon 2008 is the subject of a conference to be held at Mediatech, Holon at 12 noon. Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz, who has been running in the fast lane in the Kadima elections and who of late has professed a special interest in education, will be among the opening speakers. The conference will deal with both formal and informal education and speakers at its keynote session will include Holon Mayor, Moti Sasson, Education Minister Yuli Tamir, Defense Minister Ehud Barak, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and President Shimon Peres. The 4-day event will include a memorial service for all victims of terrorism from around the world. More than 100 experts from 15 plus countries will participate as conference speakers and panelists. Tuesday, November 11 WHEN IT was being planned, noone could foresee the political upheavals which Israel may encounter during the month of November, but it is a little late in the day to start chopping and changing the annual Prime Minister's Conference for Export and International Cooperation which will be held at Jerusalem's International Convention Center (Binyanei HaUma).
