  • REVISIONIST ZIONISTS and Italy between the two World Wars is the umbrella title of a memorial symposium to mark the third anniversary of the passing of noted historian Prof. Daniel Karpi. In addition to addresses on various aspects of Revisionist Zionism in Italy and the Jews of Italy to be delivered by a series of academics, General (Res.) Shlomo Erel will talk about the Betar Naval School in Civitavecchia. The event begins at 6 p.m. at the Jabotinsky Institute, 38 King George Street, Tel Aviv.

  • THE ISRAEL economy against the backdrop of the financial crisis is the title of the Amiram Sivan memorial lecture to be delivered by Prof. Zvi Eckstein, deputy to the Governor of the Bank of Israel in the Fastlicht Auditorium in the Mexico Building on the Tel Aviv University campus. The event, which will be attended by some of the most prominent figures in Israel's banking, business and real estate sectors, will begin at 6 p.m.
  • INDIA'S CONFRONTATION with Terror is the subject of the lecture to be given by Dr. Thomas Mathew, Deputy Director, Institute for Defense Studies & Analysis, New Delhi, India under the Auspices of The Israel Council on Foreign Relations.   • TWO AUSTRIAN dignitaries will present papers in English on themes related to Austria. 'New perspectives of Austrian foreign policy: Key issues and interests' will be discussed by Ambassador Dr. Emil Brix - head of the cultural policy section in the Austrian Foreign Ministry. His lecture will be immediately followed by one on 'Austria and the European knowledge area: Opportunities and challenges' by Mag. Barbara Weitgruber - senior advisor for strategy and coordination in international relations at the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science. The lectures are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at the Allan Bronfman Family Reception Center, Hebrew University Mount Scopus campus; under the auspices of the HU's Center for Austrian Studies at the European Forum.
