Exports to Egypt surge in March

Exports to Egypt jumped 123.5 percent to $11.4 million in March, the Israel Exports Institute said Sunday, showing the highest growth of all Israel's trade partners for the month.

Exports to Egypt jumped 123.5 percent to $11.4 million in March, the Israel Exports Institute said Sunday, showing the highest growth of all Israel's trade partners for the month. The US maintained its position as Israel's premium trading partner, importing 11% more goods from Israel than last March, to $761m. for this year. Germany held second position with imports of $126m., despite a decline of 11% from year ago levels, while exports to Holland ($126m.) and the UK ($111m.), in third and fourth place, respectively, were also down for the month. Exports to Belgium, in fifth place, rose 7.5% to $89.5m.
