The Inbal Jerusalem Hotel has named international hotelier Rony Timsit its new general manager, it announced on Monday.

Timsit brings more than three decades of experience managing luxury properties to the five-star deluxe, 283-room Inbal Jerusalem Hotel and Spa. He began his career at the food & beverage departments in leading Jerusalem hotels. He joined the Hyatt Regency Jerusalem management team in 1988, where he quickly advanced and ultimately served as its general manager. He briefly left the hotel in 1997 to serve as executive assistant manager at the Hyatt Regency Dead Sea. He was nominated for the “General Manager of the Year 1999” of the Hyatt International chain, acknowledging his accomplishments at the Hyatt Regency Jerusalem.

Timsit’s international experience began in 2003, when he moved to Belgium to fulfill the role of general manager at the boutique 100-room Hyatt Regency Brussels. His success in Brussels led to his advancement within the chain, with his next senior role as general manager of the exclusive 86-room boutique Hyatt Paris Madeleine in 2005.

He returned to Israel as general manager of the Herods Hotels in Eilat, consisting of three luxury properties with more than 350 rooms. In his last position before joining the Inbal, he served as general manager of the two Homeplazza hotels in Paris in addition to serving as senior adviser to the chain’s ownership group.

According to Timsit, there has never been a more exciting time to lead a hotel in Jerusalem.

“The Jerusalem market is changing and this presents a great opportunity for the Inbal. While there are several new luxury brands in the marketplace, there is no other property that compares to the Inbal’s ability to provide luxurious hospitality experience for both families and business travelers,” he said. “We’ve just completed an extensive refurbishment and redesign of our top three floors which have been rebranded as the new Laromme Executive floors, offering an even greater level of comfort and service than before.

“I plan to utilize my international experience, bringing a taste of some of the worlds finest hotels to Jerusalem while retaining the Inbal’s known and loved Jerusalem flavor.”
