Regarding Assad's Demand that France Talk With Hamas
"I do not agree absolutely on this because it will lead to an increase of divisions. We [Egypt] will speak with Hamas with an organized approach, but we do not acknowledge the validity of the government of Ismail Haniyeh."
Regarding Egyptian-Syrian relations
"There is calm on the Egyptian-Syrian front. The two sides are holding talks and we will meet from time to time with the Syrian representatives. Every effort to build a compromise and achieve peace is in the interest of Arab peace."
If Syria can help in Palestinian Peace.
"The brothers in Syria answer that they are striving to help, the coming days will uncover success or failure in the Syrian effort in realizing the Egyptian goal."
