IAF planes and IDF troops on the ground opened fire and confirmed hits. No soldiers were injured in the incident, the IDF said in a statement.

Sources in Gaza, quoted by Palestinian news agency Ma'an, said that a total of 15 artillery shells were launched into the Strip, causing no casualties. IDF jeeps then entered Gaza in "what was described as a sweep," the report added.

The IDF statement asserted that terrorist organizations are making ongoing attempts to harm IDF soldiers and Israeli citizens. "The IDF sees the Hamas terror group as responsible for breaking the peace," the army said.
