Dusty weather keeps MDA medics busy

The thick dust in the skies over Israel on Monday caused respiratory problems in 122 people around the country who had to be treated by Magen David Adom personnel. Of these, were 16 children, two-thirds of them babies. MDA spokesman Yerucham Mandola said that an unusually large number of heart patients had to be resuscitated. Dust in the air can be especially risky for people with lung and heart disease, pregnant women and elderly who suffer from shortness of breath. They are advised to stay indoors as much as possible and not to exert themselves during such weather.
