Five men were killed in northern Mexico after a shootout between gangs in drug-plagued Sinaloa state, prosecutors said.
The state prosecutor's office said Wednesday that gunmen opened fire on a taxi, killing the passenger and wounding the driver in the state capital of Culiacan. Soon after, more armed men arrived and started shooting at the assailants.
The prosecutor's office said in a statement that five people died and four others were wounded.
Police found 291 bullet casings from an AK-47 following Tuesday's gunbattle.
