Afghanistan: Truck ban blocks US troop supplies

Fuel and other materials for US and NATO troops in Afghanistan were held up Sunday after Pakistan temporarily barred some trucks from a major supply line to the country following militant attacks, highlighting the vulnerability of the mountain passage. The suspension of oil tankers and trucks with sealed containers from the famed Khyber Pass in northwest Pakistan was imposed late Saturday to allow for a review of security, said Bakhtiar Khan, a No. 2 government representative in the area. It could be lifted as early as Monday with new procedures in place, Khan said.
