Insurgents attacked Afghan policemen in three separate incidents in southern Afghanistan, killing three officers and wounding eight, while roadside bombs killed three civilians, officials said Monday. The lightly armed police force, which is beset by corruption, poor training and little firepower, is a favorite insurgent target. Nearly 1,000 policemen died in insurgent attacks in 2008.
