Bahrain's chief prosecutor charges 2 with making explosives

Bahrain's chief prosecutor has charged two people with making explosives that authorities say were to be used in a plot to set off a bomb during National Day celebrations.
A statement Thursday from the prosecutor said the two men confessed to planning the attack. The Persian Gulf nation's security force announced a day earlier that it had made an unspecified number of arrests in the alleged plot.
A lawyer for the two defendants said his clients were members of the country's Shiite Muslim majority. Bahrain's Shiites accuse the country's Sunni rulers of neglecting and marginalizing their community.
