British-Iraqi doctor jailed for 32 years in botched car bomb case

A judge has sentenced a British-Iraqi doctor to a minimum of 32 years in prison over botched car bomb attacks in London and Scotland. Twenty-nine-year-old Bilal Abdulla was convicted of conspiracy to murder and to cause explosions following a nine-week trial. The judge who handed down the life sentence described Abdulla as a "religious extremist and a bigot." Abdulla was born in Britain but spent much of his life in Iraq. He worked as a doctor in the National Health Service.
