Collision between tanker, bus in central China kills 15, injures 25

A speeding bus plowed into the back end of a tanker truck in central China, killing 15 people, injuring 25 and spreading flames across the highway, state media reported Tuesday. The accident occurred about 7:00 p.m. (1100 GMT) on Monday evening along a stretch of the country's main north-south highway in the province of Hunan, the Xinhua News Agency said. The resulting explosion ignited three other vehicles that were already stopped due to an earlier accident, the report said. It did not say what substance was in the tank.
