Israeli soldiers in Gaza fired two rounds of warning shots at a diplomatic convoy that included the French consul general in Jerusalem, the French Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday. The ministry said that the convoy was blocked by Israeli authorities for more than six hours on Tuesday as it tried to leave the Gaza Strip after an evaluation mission amid an edgy cease-fire. It was not immediately clear when the shots were fired. The ministry said at a news briefing that France protested the "unacceptable incident," and summoned the Israeli ambassador. On Tuesday, IAF planes targeted smuggling tunnels in Gaza in response to a Palestinian bomb attack which killed one IDF officer and wounded three soldiers.
