US President Barack Obama, his wife Michelle and their daughters, as well as Gifford and Kelly family members, will accompany her.

Kelly, 47, has announced that he plans to read a note from his wife once the Endevour reaches space. The entire Endeavour crew will also wear special blue bracelets in honor of Giffords, who is standing on her own after being shot in the head after a gunman opened fire at a Tuscon grocery store this past January where she was holding a political meeting.

Six people were killed and 18, including Giffords, were wounded in the rampage.
