German prosecutors charge 3 in alleged terror plot

Federal prosecutors say they have charged three men in connection with a foiled 2007 terrorist plot to attack US and German targets in central Germany. The federal prosecutor's office says suspects Fritz Martin Gelowicz, Daniel Martin Schneider and Adem Yilmaz have been charged with membership in a terrorist organization, the al-Qaida-influenced Islamic Jihad Union. They have all been in custody since police arrested them on September 4 on suspicion of plotting to bomb targets that included places frequented by U.S. citizens.
