Iran: Web site editor detained for insulting family of Khomeini

Authorities on Monday detained the editor of a conservative Web site that comments current events on charges of insulting the family of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the official IRNA news agency reported. The report said Tehran's general prosecutor, Saeed Mortazavi, ordered that Hossein Nobakhtian, editor of the Nosazi Web site, be taken into custody. He was sent to Evin after an initial hearing in the prosecutor's office. Earlier in February, Iranian authorities banned Nosazi and four other Web sites for "poisoning" public opinion ahead of the crucial mid-March parliamentary elections.
